Audience Feedback For My Magazine

After uploading my finished magazine, I got feedback on what could be improved.

 Front Cover:

- improve on the masthead font and colours so it stands out on the page.
- The bar code overlaps one of the cover lines slightly
 - The main cover line is at angles, which doesn't really make sense and doesn't really appeal to your target audience.

After reading these comments, I changed the colour of the masthead to make it a bit brighter so it would stand out a bit more. I changed the position of the masthead and pull quote so they didn't overlap. I also changed the angle of the cover line so it wasn't at an angle which I think looked better.

Contents Page

 - To improve, position the contents along the one whole side of the page so it looks clearer and more effective.
-However, I don’t think that you need boxes around Fatima and the Editor’s Letter. Also, the Editor’s Letter seems to discredit the articles by suggesting that the competition is the only thing that is really worth buying the magazine for.
-The picture of Insanity makes it seem as though they don’t really care about being interviewed; I think it would be better if they were looking at the camera, but the lighting is really good
. -Finally, the page number is a little large; in conventional magazines, the page number is more discreet.

I tried moving all the images to one side of the page but didn't really like how that looked so I just decided to move one image over to the other side which I think made the page look better. I also removed the box around the editors’ letter and changed the text a bit so the competition did not seem like the best thing in the magazine. The picture of Insanity, I did not change because I do not agree with the comment that they look like they don't care about being interviewed. They are in the studio singing/dancing/having fun which goes with the title 'Meet Insanity' because by reading the interview you get to know them as themselves rather than what they come across as on stage etc. The page number did seem a bit big so I made it a bit smaller.

DPS:

 - Maybe move one of the cover lines like the 'insanity' cover line onto the right page so that the pages are more balanced with the colour purple.
 - I don't think the other photo is that good; they look like they have been sucking on lemons.
 - It is unclear who is Kadey and who is Siray
 - The fan mail question seems to come out of nowhere and is a little random. -You've spelled Twitter wrong
 - How about reference to YouTube and/or Facebook somewhere in your magazine
 - The page number is too big

To improve my dps, I took on board these comments and made any necessary changes: I tried moving the Insanity cover line to the other side but I think it looked better how it was so I didn't change that. The comment about the other photo I do not agree with, next to the image it says 'go behind the scene of our shoot' and that picture is Insanity pulling funny faces and it shows what went on behind the scenes for anyone who is interested. I realized that for anyone who wasn't a fan, they wouldn't know who Kadey and Siray were so I put their names on the contents page next to their picture so that people would know who Kadey and Siray were. I moved the fan mail question so it was after the question about what they have bought with their earnings. I think that this will make it seem less random. I also changed the spelling of twitter as I hadn't realized this mistake earlier. On my contents page, I included a reference to my magazines Facebook and twitter pages to interact more with my audience. The page number was too big on the contents page as well and I changed the font size of it on the dps as well.
